  • We create other to keep us company

  • Who you think you are is the subject
  • Take a look at yourself
  • Subject becomes object
  • Continue to drill down
  • The subject of one level becomes the object of the subject in the next
  • Go back until you run out of objects
  • You run out of things to look at
  • Who you are is not a thing

Chapter 6: Ultimate Subjectivity

  • a subject that cannot be transformed into an object
  • a subject that can never be perceived
  • a subject that exists prior to thought

Chapter 7: There is only One

  • Ultimate subjectivity projects itself as ultimate objectivity
  • Ultimate objectivity is the whole world
  • Ultimate is fundamental, the last in its progression
  • Cannot have my ultimate and your ultimate
  • Everyone must be experiencing the same ultimate subjectivity

Chapter 8: The notion of subjectivity collapses

  • Ultimate subjectivity is reached when all objects fall away
  • But can subjectivity exist without reference to an object?
  • In duality, one cannot exist without the other
  • Subject cannot persist without object
  • Neither subject nor object, yet you still exist

Chapter 9: Existence is awareness

  • Are you aware of this room, neighborhood, country, planet, universe, and beyond…?
  • As perception expands, mind cannot grasp
  • Subject cannot generate an object
  • Yet awareness is present
  • Perception without limitation

Chapter 10: Awareness is…

  • Awareness is Infinite
    • Only objects have boundaries
    • Awareness is Self-aware
      • Lucid and conscious
    • Awareness is Non-local
      • Cannot point to where it is or is not
    • Awareness is Empty
      • Contains no thing

    Chapter 11: The Ultimate Allowing

    • How to experience awareness
    • Immediacy, come back to here and now
    • Drop all questions
    • Relinquish the doer
    • Let everything be as it is
    • Allow yourself and others to be as they are
    • No negotiation, no agenda, no ulterior motives
    • Rest in the open perception that is always there

Chapter 12: Jesus on the cross

    • The ultimate allowing says all is OK exactly as it is
    • Adyashanti’s interpretation of Jesus message
    • "I know everything you've ever done ... and it’s OK.
Now, can you accept that? Can you take that much love in?"
